The Business Immigration Paralegal position requires an organized team player with a positive, can-do attitude and an ability to work well with time deadlines. The Business Immigration Paralegal’s responsibility is to assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions and applications with USCIS.
Specific job duties include:
- Under supervision of Attorneys, prepare case materials and file nonimmigrant petitions and applications with USCIS including E, L, H, TN, and O.
- Prepare and file immigrant petitions and applications including PERM, I-130, PERM based I-140 petitions, EB1A, B & C -based petitions and I-485 applications to adjust status.
- Draft comprehensive support letters and immigration forms.
- Perform research to obtain information such as background on company and industry, current wages, processing, procedures, standard processing times, etc.
- Guide clients through the entire PERM process.
- Track critical deadlines using immigration software system and prepare weekly caseload reports for each Attorney.
- Communicate regularly via phone and in writing with clients, beneficiaries, and various government agencies.
Job Requirements:
- BS or BA degree required.
- 1 - 3 years of business immigration experience preferred.
- Attention to detail and high-quality, meticulous work product.
- Ability to identify and analyze issues and problems and recommend and implement solutions.
- Ability to organize work, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Cooperative with ability to maintain good interpersonal relations and communications with lawyers and other staff.
- Strong background in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
